.. . . keeping involved
There is plenty of advice available about staying healthy - take exercise, eat well, learn new things, meet new people, do something creative, talk about your problems with someone, take time to relax, stay in touch with friends. It’s not so easy if circumstances have left you isolated or less active than you used to be.
West Norfolk Mind can help you in a number of ways. Each of our centres runs a range of programmes that you may like to join in with. Our Heacham centre, as an example, runs a welcoming and friendly day centre which is ideal for meeting new people, making new friends, joining in with activities and having a chat over lunch. Our staff and volunteers are trained to support you and are available to talk things over with you if you wish. They also want to hear what activities you would enjoy, and how they can help you take part in them.
Alternatively, we have trained staff who visit people in their own homes when the help is needed there. For instance, they can help you with basic activities for day-to-day living, support you to maintain a healthy diet, assist with visits to friends and family, or help you to find out what’s on locally and to join in. They can also supply encouragement and a friendly ear just to keep things going in the home.
