West Norfolk Mind is a specialist mental health charity providing local services to support people, their families, their carers and their employers.
We are a part of Mind, and are one of over 150 Local Mind Associations around the country which makes up this national charity. We first started in 1988 as King’s Lynn & District Mind and became West Norfolk Mind in 2002.
We aim to support people to build a meaningful life for themselves and inspire hope for recovery, with or without the continuing presence of mental health problems.
We promote positive mental health and social inclusion within the community and provide a variety of resources which anyone can access.
We are a service user-led organisation with service user representation on our Trustee Board. We are an active partner with Norfolk Social Services, Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, Norfolk Health, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn NHS Foundation Trust and other voluntary groups. We are also a Norfolk County Council approved provider.
We fund our work through donations, contracts with local authorities and the health sector and grants from charitable funders such as the Big Lottery. Some people pay us direct for our services too.
